Tutorial for my Fireside Wish Journal

I’m so excited to be part of the Emerald Creek and Eileen Hull Blog hop! What a wonderful group of talented artists throwing down all sorts of inspiration ✨

I am using one of my favorite Eileen Hull XL Journal Bigz Dies and loaded it up with a bunch of Emerald Creek embossing powders and stamps.

In the first photo, you see the products I used, including my all time fav, Fractured Ice, Bees Wax, Mirrored Platinum and Peppered Chantilly. Along with Emerald Creek Holly and Snowflakes rubbers stamps and of course Eileen’s Journal which is 4 1/2” x 8 1/2″. Find the Emerald Creek products HERE. Find the Eileen Hull Die HERE.

In this photo you see my journal front which is 2 pieces and you glue together along the dots – very easy peasy. Once I assembled the journal I painted it black. I then fussy cut the pine cones and glued them to the bottom.

I embossed the snowflakes using a Tim Holtz stencil with Peppered Chantilly. To get that snow flurries look, I embossed Fractured Ice, not once but twice, over the entire journal cover. Not only did it give me the flurried look, but the pine cones became decoupaged like ice had formed over them. I finally glued the lanterns (I highlighted in yellow the lantern fronts). I used Bees Wax embossing powder EP to get that glow.

This photo is a close up of two Sizzix dies. On the word “wish” I used Chantilly again. See how different the effects are when used as is here and also how it changes when Fractured Ice is applied over Chantilly getting that icy look. The snowflake die was embossed by my own blend of Emerald Creek embossing powders  Fairy Wings Blue, green and clear EP.

This photo shows how I used the Emerald Creek Holly rubber stamp as the cover piece for a lined journal insert I used as filler for the journal. I then took a wide assortment of holiday paper to complete my signature fills for the journal.

I hope you are inspired to create your own holiday wish journal.  If you want a chance of winning my Fireside Wish journal, head over to my Instagram page and on my Emerald Creek post leave a comment there with what your holiday wish is and make sure your are following me HERE.
